StarForce Technologies Launches a Free Secure Email Service

StarForce Technologies, a world-renowned developer of software solutions to protect applications and content, announces the launching of its free secured email service – Sfletter.com. This service is designed to protect private and corporate correspondence from unauthorized information use including forwarding the emails to third parties and scanning the content of mails and attachments by other email services.

Sfletter.com allows to protect either attachments – files in PDF and JPEG formats (further the list of supported formats will be extended), or the entire email message. Everyone can register an account and get a free mailbox. Protected emails can be sent to any email service or client. To open a protected email a receiver needs to download a special viewer program provided for free.

«Sfletter.com is created for private and corporate users who want to protect confidential nature of data to be sent by email,” says Alexander Zatsepin, COO at StarForce Technologies. “Presently we launch the service in beta testing mode to gather statistics and wishes. In the nearest future the service will be actively developed - we are planning to extend its functionality and to introduce some chargeable services”.

The service is currently in beta with a 500MB mailbox limit. A user can add to an email two attachments not more than 5 MB each.

“Recently we heard about a number of secure email services that promise to protect our privacy”, explains Michael Kalinichenko, the founder of the email startup. “But Sfletter.com has a unique protection model that makes it different from all the services mentioned above. The message and attachments protected by Sfletter.com cannot be forwarded, edited, printed or screen captured – they stay protected after opening and reading. Besides they can be opened only on the receiver’s computer. It can be compared with a cryptex with a key that instead of using set of symbols needs a definite user device”.
